Getting the Word Out

Getting the word out about what our students accomplished through the project is also important. So below you'll find how we went about the dissemination of the project's results.

To widen the reach of our project we established a partnership with another project "SUPER4RTE", helped organize a fashion show and shared with the general public what the SkinDeep was all about. We also invited some members of our school community - teachers, staff and students - to take part of it by sharing their talents where music and singing are concerned.
Below you have some pictures taken during that event.

We organized a final exhibition to share with the rest of our school community what our students had achieved through the project and went to our teacher's lounge not only to explain what we had done throughout the project, but also to make them aware of what eTwinning was all about.

Skin Deep Evaluation

We asked our students to evaluate the work we did throughout the project.

The teachers, on the other hand, accessed a form to share their views.

As we weigh all we did, we're the first to admit that we could have done more. Yes, we did accomplish a lot, yes, the kids had fun while developing their language skills, their creativity, and their critical thinking. But, we could have done more.

At times we were hindered by time zone and school calendar differences. It was hard to come up with online collaborative working times for our students and for ourselves. Maybe one way to overcome this would be to have a smaller group of partners, so as to make it easier to reach everyone and collaborate more.

Also, when we decided on the number of activities for the project 6 seemed to be a reasonable and doable number, but as it turned out, even though we tried to integrate the project within our curriculum, having to keep to our own school programs and prepare the students for the national exams made it hard to keep to the project's schedule. So it would have been best to have less activities and just strive for more interaction within the activities.

Still, overall, the outcome of the project is clearly positive, and we are walking away from it more aware of our own capability to cooperate and compromise.

Logo Winners - Prize

France won the logo competition and as promised we gathered some goodies related to our country and sent it over to them. It was great fun to have our kids thinking about what they wanted to share and a pleasure to witness the French students reaction when they finally got what we had sent them.

Skype Calls

From January to March our students got in touch with one another over skype. It wasn't always easy to set up call times that worked for both partners, but we managed. Below you'll find some bits and pieces from each of the calls made. Even with some glitches (poor connection mostly) Skype proved to be a valuable tool and we loved finding out more about one another.

Project Logo Winner - France

Our project logo has finally been chosen. :)
After being voted on by all the partners the winner is one of the logos created by the students of the Collège de la Robertsau. Well done guys, brilliant work.
